The logic of #6 on your list is changing over time.
Their are newer furnaces (1990′s +) that have two stage heat in which the second stage only kicks-in when the actual temperature and the desired temperature are far apart.

This is a partial list of what puzzles me:
6. What is the logic of turning the thermostat
from 68 degrees to 82 degrees to warm up in the winter?
The house will not reach a comfortable 72 degrees
any faster, will it?
As a consultant, I have seen business owners make pretty foolish spending choices. They also allowed their employees to order what they wanted to with no parameters. And, there is a false sense of entitlement of owners to spend company money on personal items.
In the beginning stage of business, getting that business loan and going out to buy “pretty” furnishings and “cool” office supplies is a norm for many. Since that wasn’t what the money was for, they run into poor cash flow quickly. Successful people begin by furnishing their offices with used, discounted, borrowed, and minimal items that get the job done. Then they focus on getting their job done.
The key I have found that helps the most is learning how to track and analyze the numbers in ways that make sense. Business owners can ask themselves, “What am I more afraid of – learning that or ongoing poor cash flow?” Money stress leads to all sorts of personal problems, as you indicated. We don’t go into business to be miserable and soooo much of it can be avoided.
PS: I love BBC sitcoms, including Keeping Up Appearances. I just watched an episode on Netflix a few days ago.
